Health and Safety at Trains Joinery

 

Trains Joinery Ltd regards the promotion of Health, Safety and Welfare as a mutual objective for Management and Employees at all levels.

 

The Board of Directors considers this as a Management Responsibility equal to that of any function.

 

It is therefore company policy to assess all significant risks to employees and others which may arise from any

Trains Joinery Ltd undertaking and to develop and maintain preventative and/or protective measures which shall avoid or reduce risks to the lowest extent reasonably practicable.

It is our policy to provide safe and healthy working conditions for all our employees.

Full co operation and consultation with all clients and contractors will take place to ensure a safe working environment.

 

To this end Trains Joinery Ltd shall provide such resources, competent technical advice, information and training as may be necessary to enable all employees to meet their health and safety responsibilities.

Trains Joinery Ltd will ensure that the policy objectives outlined on the following pages are adopted.

The Board of Directors give full backing to this policy and shall support any person implementing it.

 

Each Company Director and Manager and everyone with supervisory responsibility must recognise the need and accept their responsibilities for the provision and maintenance of safe and healthy work, equipment, premises, systems of work and a working environment in all undertakings coming within their area(s) of control, and to arrange for adequate information, instruction and training for persons for whom they are responsible.

Trains Joinery Ltd  accept the need to consult with employees before giving them any health and safety responsibilities and will take into account the capabilities of employees as regards health and safety when entrusting work to them.

 

Trains Joinery Ltd recognises the importance staff have in formulating and reviewing the policy.  All are encouraged to comment and make representation regarding the policy through existing communication links with managers.

 

They must ensure the effective delegation of their health and safety responsibilities when they are absent.

Successful implementation of this required the whole hearted commitment of everyone in the company and acceptance by individual employees of their responsibilities to:-

a)       Use any machinery, equipment, dangerous substances, transport equipment, means of production or safety device provided by Trains Joinery Ltd in accordance with any information, instruction and/or training provided, and

b)       Inform their director or manager of any work situation, which they reasonably consider, represents a serious and immediate danger to health and safety and of any matter which they reasonably consider represents a shortcoming in protection arrangements for health and safety.

 

All persons are reminded that it is a criminal offence to misuse or recklessly interfere with anything, which is provided in the interests of Health, Safety and Welfare.

 

Trains Joinery Ltd have appointed Mr Antony Train as Safety Director, he will be responsible for health and safety and will provide assistance in health and safety matters to all employees.  Mr Train will seek external advice as and when necessary to identify significant risks and precautions.

 

Trains Joinery Ltd  stress their commitment to health and safety to the extent that where wilful disregard for safe working practices by any employee seriously puts at risk the health or safety of themselves of any other person this shall be considered ass gross misconduct and may lead to the severest of disciplinary action.

 

Trains Joinery Ltd recognise that it’s activities have an impact on the environment and are committed to minimising that impact through seeking continually to improve the company’s environmental performance.

 

 

 

A copy of this General Policy Statement shall be issued to all Trains Joinery Ltd  employees.  It may be revised, added to or modified from time to time e.g new legislation, HSE or industry guidance, and it shall be supplemented where appropriate by local safety procedures, codes of safe working practice or guidance notes.

Changes shall be brought to the attention of all persons within Trains Joinery Ltd  who need to know.

 

Policy Objective

To develop a culture within Trains Joinery Ltd which leads employees and other persons undertaking work on behalf of Trains Joinery Ltd to appreciate the need for good health and safety standards.
